A Letter to Mom
Written by: JohnMy friend at work showed me this letter that her daughter wrote for one of her classes. I know that this daughter has really caused her mom a lot of heartache. This letter is pretty amazing and I guess is why people tell me that raising children will pay off.
MY HERO
How do you define hero? Many people have different definitions, but my definition of hero is one word, Mom. Helping when things are happy and when things are sad. She is always there. First of all, my mom is caring. Though sometimes we get in disagreements, we always get through it. When I’m hurt she helps any way she can. When I have something to do, she always makes sure she does her best to let me participate. Also my mom is a hard worker. She does her job well, and gets things done when they need to be done. She is never late, and she never gives up. She is also out going. She is always smiling, like it’s the happiest day of her life. She is brave, going to clinics and helping sick people takes real guts . Being caring, a hard worker, and out going, I would consider my mom a hero.l had no doubt when it came choosing my hero because this person is with me every day. She is so strong even though she has been through many hardships. She is a perfect example of a modern day hero, no she doesnt go around smashing walls but she does help cure people and works on molding my life. When times get tough so does my mom. No matter what, she is there for me, ready to live up to God’s expectations and to her own. She never gives up and has influenced my life so much that I am what I’ve become. No, my mom is not a super hero I just wanted to help you understand the diference between a supre hero amd my mom. A superhero has a call to adventure with a guardian or peril at the beginning that they must overcome or persuade to enter into the adventure. My mom comes when ever she thinks nessacary she helps me understand that she will not always be there to camoe and rescue me. A superhero meets a guide or gains a companion who is with them through the adventure. My mom usually accomplishes things alone.
A superhero faces three trials and a reversal, most of the time my mom does not even get the thanks she desrves.A superhero then faces the great enemy. My moms worst enemy is probably me throwing away my life.
Then the superhero must find a way to overcome the enemy.
My moms always knows how to solve any problems that comes her way. The superhero survives (or doesn’t survive) the aftermath of defeating the enemy. My mom is a survivor nothing can kill her.
To be a a hero you can not just be someone who sets a good example they have to have more characheteristics.Sacrifice,Sacrifice is the forfiture of something highly valued for the sake of one considered to have a greater value or claim. Determination, Determination is a fixed intention or resolution; a firmness of purpse or resolve. Loyalty, Loyalty is the feeling of allegiance or the act of binding oneself to a course of action. Courage, Courage is that firmness of spirit and swell of soul which meets danger without fear. Dedication, Dedication is a selfless devotion; complete and whole hearted fidelity or the act of binding oneself to a course of action. Intrepidity Intrepidity, is firm, unshaken courage. Valor, Valor is courage exhibited in war, and can not be applied to single combats. Selfless, Selfless is the quality of unselfish concern for the welfare of others and acting with less concern for yourself. Conviction, Conviciton is a fixed or strong belief; a necessity of the mind or an unshakable belief. Focused, Focused is the ability to direct one’s energy toward a particular point or purpose; to concentrate one’s energy. Gallantry, Gallantry is adventurous courage, which courts danger with a high and cheerful
spirit. Perserverance, Perserverance is a persistent determination. Fortitude Fortitude has often been styled “passive courage,” and consists in the habit of encountering danger and enduring pain with a steadfast and unbroken spirit. Bravery, Bravery is daring and impetuous courage, like that of one who has the reward continually in view, and displays his courage in daring acts. You need these things to be a hero and that are exactly what my mom has if not more.
There are many types of heroes in this world some are fake and some are real. There are classical heroes, reluctant heroes, group heroes, loner heroes, tragic heroes, tricksters, sacrificial heroes, and everyday heroes, like my mom. But what makes a hero a hero is that they accept the call to adventure and overcome perils in a manner that requires courage and sacrifice — and in a way that benefits the community in some way. My mom goes out of her way on a daily bases for anyone. She loves me and cares for me more than anyone in the world. That is all I need for her to be my hero but you see she has much more than that. She diciplines me but she is doing it because she loves me and wants me to grow up and become a woman ready for the real world. That is just so amazing to me because society teaches that you should be you’re child’s best friend but society is wrong you are the parent there to set a good example and to teach them what is right and what is wrong, and my mother is doing that perfectly.
A hero is someone you can trust and look up to. Someone who is brave and loyal .My mom is my hero and always will be. She is the best influence in my life and always will be. She teaches me the difference between right and wrong and loves me even when I lie or tell her I hate her. I have never met anyone like her she is the best and I hope someday I will grow up to be just like her.
