How come the batteries you want to last a long time never last enough? And then the batteries you would just wish they would hurry up and die never do?

My digital camera always needs new batteries. It is annoying. But the my sons annoying toys seem like they are the energizer bunny and just keep going and going. Today he was playing with one of his Thomas trains that if you turn on goes all by itself. Stupid idea. The thing went all by itself under my couch. I could hear it’s annoying sound for an hour. I was just hoping that the batteries would just die. And they never did. I finally had to move the couch-not an easy task in a cramped two bedroom apartment. I found all sorts of toys and still couldn’t reach the stupid train. Finally I found it. And shut it off. Annoying.
