Suggestions and Thoughts on Mortgage Fraud

Today my wife was dreading the fact that we are currently living in an apartment. I think that she really aches for a home. It makes sense why she would want it more than me. She is a wonderful stay at home mom and so she’s in our home all day.

Let me just lay out there a few of the reasons that I’m scared to actually purchase a home: mortgage fraud, hidden fees and the transparency (or lack thereof) of information in the borrowing process. Add those to the problem of choosing a mortgage company and I’m just scared.

I did find a resource called Mortgages 101 that had some good information. I also love the mortgage calculators that they have.

I think it’s important to get as much information as possible before getting a mortgage. Unfortunately, the more information I get the more scared I get. My brothers did give me the best counsel around. Shop around until you find a mortgage broker that makes you feel comfortable.
