Understanding Hosting Performance

Written by: John

When my previous Wordpress.com website got torn down because of a supposed TOS violation, I had to quickly choose a host of my own so that I could move my blog to a new place. Of course I didn’t spend the time that I needed to in order to select a reliable host. Of course after I’ve already chosen a host I found a place called Real Metrics (www.realmetrics.com) that does all of the testing for you. They measure thousands of things from a variety of hosts. It’s a great place to select a host from a whole variety of factors. My favorite measurement is how quickly support responds to you. That’s VERY important for you to know before choosing a host. You don’t want to be wondering what’s going on with your host.
