Honestly, I don’t think that I will ever get tired of talking about VOIP. I think that it has got to be one of the best inventions ever created. Let me tell you just ONE (of the many) reasons why VoIP is great. I called my grandmother the other day to ask her a simple question. Well, after I asked her the question, she pretty much ended my call right away. I found out later that she was afraid to talk to me on the phone because she’s still in the mindset that long distance calls are expensive.

VoIP has changed all of that for me. Long distance doesn’t cost any different for me now that I have an IP phone. I get all the unlimited long distance that I want. This works even when I’m calling Italy. I tried to tell my Grandmother this, but she just didn’t understand. I guess I can understand why it is hard for people to understand how VoIP works, but let me tell you it does work.

The next best feature of VoIP is that I no longer get telemarketer calls. Let’s just hope the VoIP providers don’t cave in and start selling my phone number. Until then, if I hear the phone ring I know it’s a call I want to answer.
