Welcome to Something for Nothing

First, I should make it clear that I have never used a hookah and never would. I’ve never smoked or drinked in my entire life. Why start now? However, that’s what makes this story more ironic.

One day some friends from work and I decided to go to lunch at this really good Mediterranean cafe. When we arrived the place was packed and so they said they only had space in the Hookah lounge. There were Hookahs all over the place and the room might as well have been considered a hookah in itself. At least the meal was good.

I had hoped that it would be more video from the experience, but it was just what was shown on SYTYCD.

By the way, I saw Step Up and I was quite disappointed. Not by the dancing. The dancing was pretty good. Although I think the dancing in So You Think You Can Dance was just as good or better than the movie. However, the storyline was completely predictable. My little sister could have created a better storyline. Luckily for them, the dancing makes it worth watching.

I have to confess that I really love forums. I think there is something incredibly interesting to participate with a group of people discussing something. I’ve found that the best forums are ones where it is a specific niche forum. A few that I participate in often is EMRUpdate.com, Doctor’s Gadgets and the Italy Rome Mission forum.

Recently I came across a forum called WoodenCRATES.org. I find it completely fascinating that international commerce is so dependent on somthing as simple as a crate. The fact is that as you read through the forum you realize that there are a lot of different aspects involved in crates and a businesses decision to use wooden crates. There are wood shipping and transport crates. Packing and crating is huge. It’s a worldwide global busienss that affects almost every other industry there is. They even have the only job listings for crating. I just love business. It amazes me that something so small could have such a great impact. Not to mention the competition factor between wooden and plastic crates. Fascinating!!

Today I came across an IM prank that looks really funny.

Essentially you put in the screen name of your friend or family and some other demographic information. Then, the site says the IM bot computer will talk with your friends for ten minutes using a highly advanced Artificial Intelligence system. After the ten minutes are up, the conversation will be displayed. This way you can make fun of them for actually talking to a computer! IM Prank Bot is completely safe to send on people of all ages. The bot will respond with the same attitude as it is given… Whether your friend has one of those hostile potty mouths, or just loves to chat, you’re bound to end up with some hilarious conversations.

How funny is that? Too bad I don’t really use AIM.
