Spoil My Spouse

Spoil My Spouse is my best idea so far. It’s been second on the list of over 2500 ideas that have been submitted to Cambrian House. That’s pretty exciting.

The basic premise of my idea is to have a reminder service to help you do something nice for your spouse. In my religion we often talk about doing special things for your spouse to keep them happy. The challenge I have found is trying to think of things that I can do that would be special for my wife.

The power of Spoil My Spouse is that by using Cambrian House to develop the website, you get to use the power of crowds to develop a large database of ideas that can be sent to users of Spoil My Spouse.

The financial model for Spoil My Spouse is pretty straighforward. If you send an idea to take flowers to someone then you send a link to a place where you can send flowers. nfofreako commented on the idea that he felt that one of his clients, Edible Arrangments, would be an early sponsor for Spoil My Spouse.

Abi’s comment is my favorite:

Speaking as a wife I think it is a great concept. Wives know you men want to be spontaneous and wonderful but a bit of a reminder (unknown to the women folk) would work wonders! We know you love us but a bunch of flowers without the hints is a real pick me up when the kids have been going crazy all day. Surely any woman would appreciate this no matter how “different” a person she may be.

It’s great to see that people can see the value in this type of service.

Much more could be said about the idea, but another key to the success of Spoil My Spouse is that it could be created really quickly. It is similar to the Cambrian House Prezzle project that you could quickly develop a base featureset and then expand the product over time. Prezzle could also be one of the first advertisers for the site.
