Mike Hague Goes from Safety to Running Back and Receiver
Written by: JohnBrighton High Star, Mike Hague, is now moving to running back and receiver to get more playing time. I think this could be a fantastic move. I’ve read the stories on Mike’s running skills at Brighton High School. He lit people up. Sure, he could have been like Morgan Scalley who was a running back in high school, but moved to saftey while playing at the University of Utah. However, I’m excited to see what he can do at running back and more importantly receiver.
Hopefully having a running back at receiver he can really create some extra yards after the catch like Reno Mahe use to do at wide receiver. BYU could definitely use the extra yards from its receivers. I hope Mike Hague is as good as he looked on paper.
One other important point is that Bronco Mendenhall wasn’t planning on using a red shirt year because Mike was too valuable on special teams. I hope we get a chance to see him in other places than special teams. Even if that means that the second and third string is playing in a BYU football blowout.
