BYU Cougar Offense

Everyone that follows any BYU football knows that the cougar offense is potent. In fact, people who don’t know much about BYU would probably say that BYU has a potent offense. This year they can finally say that again. Pre-season touted Watkins as a great deep threat and a great receiver to watch. I must admit that I love Watkins and wish that Beck could get him the ball more. Unfortunately, with Crowton out of the mix the offense is very different under Anae’s Texas Tech style offense. Instead, watch for Johnny Harline to have a career day in the Las Vegas Bowl.

However, BYU has something more important than passing(which may come as a surprise). They MUST rush the ball. If John Beck doesn’t turn around and hand the ball repeatedly to Curtis Brown he’s making a big mistake(or more importantly Anae is). Give him the ball and let him take care of business. Otherwise, it’s going to be a long day for the offense and a lackluster performance for BYU in the Las Vegas Bowl.
