I must admit that the news of BYU playing Cal was quite good. I still wanted USC or Texas to lose on Saturday just so the BCS could show how screwed up it is and continue the utterly slow move to a playoff system. USC vs. Texas is going to be an interesting game. Consider if USC would have lost then they could have potentially played Notre Dame in a different BCS bowl game. Can you say a matchup with Texas is that much more interesting than Notre Dame trying to avenge their USC loss? I can’t say it is. Not that I usually have much time after the new year to watch the games since they are on days when work is starting again. Let’s get that playoff format done and use the bowl games if you must. Just schedule them on days I can watch without driving my wife crazy. 4 days of football is great for me, but bad for a marriage.

Back to BYU, thank goodness for the Cal matchup. It is a win win situation for BYU no matter the outcome. If we win then we beat a pretty good Cal team(even if it is in a little bit of a down year for them). If we lose then we lost to Cal who is a pretty good team.
