A Few Options for Those Without CSTV

Tonight’s game between BYU and New Mexico is on CSTV and many people don’t have access to it. Translation: Thanks satellite companies. There are a number of online options for those interested.

First, is that you can always get the free radio stream from KSL of all their BYU football (and basketball for that matter) games. I like the radio broadcast. It usually provides you with some good information. However, it is online radio and not video. We all know the difference between the 2.

You can also purchase CSTV’s online package to see the game if you want. I’ve heard good things about the quality for the most part.

Someone else said there are some other online options to those interested. I’ll let you search them out if you really want to know about them. I don’t want to overwhelm them.

Of course, all of you BYU football fanatics already know that you can get all the updates you want by refreshing Cougarboard.

Lots of options out there. Go Cougars!!

Cougars Wear Blue Campaign Videos

I think that most people that read this blog are aware of the Cougars Wear Blue campaign that has been going on for a little while now. I think it’s a good initiative even if a sea of Blue isn’t nearly as remarkable as Texas A&Ms auburn or the Yewts Red, or Tenessee’s orange. However, blue’s our color and so I support having everyone wearing that color.

The Wear Blue campaigners have asked people to create some videos promoting this campaign. Some of them are quite funny. Here’s all the ones that I could find for now.

UCLA Fan’s Description of Bruins Receiver Corp

I found an interesting assessment of UCLA vs. BYU by a UCLA fan. The most interesting part was his description of UCLA’s group of receivers. I can’t really stand to read what a UCLA fan says about BYU, but I find their assessment of their own talent quite interesting. Take a look.

WR M.Everett 6-1(Best wide out on the team imo)WR B.Breazell 6-0 (4.3 speed and great hands) WR T.Austin 5-10 (Highest WR recruit we have at WR,is a combo of the 1st 2 players)Thats the small group.

The Tall Group: WR J.Cowan 6-5(Typical Big Possession WR) WR G.Ketchum 6-5(Slightly Faster than Cowan) WR Dominique Johnson 6-3 (Unbeleivable Hands & Faster than the previous 2) WR Ossar Rasshan 6-4 (Switched from QB to WR and is heralded by the coaches as the most physically gifted WR on the team. You guys wont see him this year though…unless somehow its a blowout.)

I don’t think we can take all of the above information at face value. However, I do think information like this makes the game much more interesting. You know after reading this I’ll be watching their receivers with a little more interest. This list of tall receivers reminds me of the monster receivers we saw against Notre Dame a little while ago. The big Notre Dame receivers ate us up. I’m hoping tomorrow will create a different memory.

BYU vs. UCLA - Just a Nice Situation for BYU Football

A few quick hits on BYU vs. UCLA:
-BYU has nothing to lose. A loss to #13 UCLA has little significance. However, a win puts BYU football in the top 25 and finally ahead of Michigan (who lost to a Div AA team if you’ve been sleeping)
-The return of Ben Olson should make it interesting for BYU fans to watch. I’m most looking forward to his first sack and hopefully his post game interview after BYU wins
-The Rose Bowl. That place is just historic and has an excitement all its own.

For those that want to stream BYU vs. UCLA football online.

My favorite item of the week was when I heard Ben say in his press conference that he’d gotten a message on his cell phone from Kehl. I guess Kehl was Olson’s roomate freshman year. On Tuesday when asked about his Sunday Call, Kehl jokingly said, “I’m still waiting for that little punk to call me back.”

BYU Football on Versus Streamed Online - Some People’s Only Hope

I’ve been messing around with a peer to peer live TV program called TVUNetworks. Versus worked really well on it for the entire Tour de France. I’m not sure it will work as nicely for BYU football, but for some it may be the only hope. You can download the player and try out the technology. I can’t guarantee the quality, legality or anything else related to this software. However, there may be a bunch of BYU football fans that have no other choice to see the game than to try something like this. Plus, I think the technology of peer to peer live TV streams are cool.

By the way, if you don’t have a fast internet connection, then don’t even think about trying this.
