16 Wins and Counting

I can’t believe that BYU has a chance to be close to 20 wins. In fact, if they do well in the MWC tournament then they will be over 20 wins I think. This is quite unbelievable. After those losses at the beginning of the MWC games I got so disinterested. I guess I am somewhat of a fair weather fan. My only excuse is that if they were on TV I would have watched it more. It’s just hard to listen to your team get the smack laid down on them over the internet radio. I just get distracted on the internet and stop listening.

Well, let’s hope we can pull together and get some good upset wins in the tournament. Otherwise we’ll be settling for the NIT(and not even that if we just blow the last couple games and the tourney).

Utah Loss

I don’t really have too much to say about the game. What is it about away games that BYU can’t figure out? We should have easily beat the U. They pretty much were giving us the game. Reminded me of the super bowl where Seattle lost the game. Pittsburgh didn’t win the game. Seattle just made too many dumb mistakes. I wonder if there was just too much talk about the Huntsman Center curse or whatever you want to call it. We haven’t won their since my mom was changing my diapers(at least that’s what it feels like). Oh well, let’s not give any credit to the U for winning. Let’s be good fans and rail on our team for playing like freshman starting their first game at the Huntsman center.

BYU Players in the Superbowl

I’m glad to see so many BYU players in the Superbowl this year. That says something about the quality of some of the athletes we have and should be a good selling point for recruits.

I must admit that of all the BYU ties to the Superbowl I am most impressed with Mike Holmgren representing us there. He is a spectacular mind and goes about things the right way. I’m amazed at what he’s been able to accomplish in his career and I think he’ll be the major difference in the game as the Seahawks take a close one from the Steelers.

I do also want to mention Keisel really showing us a little something something in the playoffs. Pretty impressive stuff. Thank goodness for the early church and late start to the game.

Fair Weather Fan

I must admit that lately I’ve become a fair weather BYU fan. I still love blogging and I love being on my computer. Unfortunately, I just haven’t had much worth writing about for BYU. BYU’s start to the Mountain West conference season just killed da fight(a phrase I learned in Hawaii). Now BYU has gone a four game win streak and is back in the running for the MWC. 14 wins this season is looking pretty good with all freshman players.

Today I was pleasantly surprised by a BYU win against Air Force. Air Force just manhandled BYU in Colorado. I just can’t explain what difference it makes where you play. I wish there was a way to quantify it, but I don’t think that will ever be possible. In the end, if you get down early on Air Force you might as well just head to the locker room. They are tough to catch with their slow offensive style. Thanks to Plaisted deciding to play this time we could stay in with them. I’m also not sure why Balderson is coming off the bench? I’m glad to see he’s playing well from the bench and seemed to accept his position(although I’m sure he hates it).

Next week is the big rivalry game against Utah at Utah. I’ll have to post more on that for those dirty Ute fans that have stopped going to see the games. Interesting how Utah fans haven’t had much to say since basketball season started. Let’s hope BYU can turn the tide at the Huntsman center. No wins since 1994 will be tough to overcome.
