Writing a Novel
Written by: JuanchitoA week or so ago I got an interesting email from my little sister. She wanted to borrow our Asus eee (basically a little computer) since she really wanted to finish a novel she’s been working on for a while. I don’t know if my sister knows what she’s getting herself into. I think I might need to ask my friend in New Orleans to talk to her about writing a novel.
Anyway, my sister isn’t giving me many details about the novel. I think it’s because she’s writing some smutty romance that she knows I won’t like. That said, I do love seeing people live out their dreams. So, we sent our little computer to her. This should be interesting. I’m going to tell her that in return for borrowing the computer I want 20% of her book sale royalties. Seems reasonable to me. I wonder what she’ll think.

Remote Desktop Access from Asus eee
Written by: JuanchitoI think you all know that I’m totally in love with the Asus eee that my wife gave me for Christmas. It’s a sweet little machine to use in front of the TV. However, sometimes I just find it necessary to have access to some of the things on my windows machine (bookmarks, word documents, visio documents, etc) Today I was happy to find instructions to do remote desktop from my Asus eee to my windows xp machine.
Here they are as much for my reference as yours:
CTRL-ALT-T to get a terminal window
Full screen remote desktop
rdesktop -f 192.168.15.100
Remote Desktop in a window
rdesktop -g 800×420 192.168.15.100
(Of course replace it with your IP address)
Add -u username to avoid having to enter the user. I still wish I could add a launcher so I didn’t have to do it command line, but I haven’t taken the time to figure that out yet.

Description of Asus eee
Written by: JuanchitoToday Digg had an article about the Asus eee. I don’t agree with everything that’s said, but overall he sums up the asus eee experience quite well. I love the little machine. I couldn’t use it the other day and so I pulled out my laptop. That’s when I realized how wonderful the little asus eee is. It’s so small, lightweight and effective. Very few things I haven’t been able to do with it. The next version will be even better, but I’m very happy with my Christmas gift.
