Downloading Ringtones vs. Ringtones on A CD

I came across a recent Techcrunch article about the music industry’s new product for ringtones. Basically the music industry is trying to sell a nearly $7 CD of ringtones. First of all, who would want a CD with ringtones when you could just download it to your computer or your phone. If you need a CD to get ringtones on your phone, then you probably shouldn’t be changing your ringtones at all.

More importantly, why pay 7 dollars for Ringtones when there are sites where you can Download Free Ringtones. Take a look at Custom Addict’s free ringtones and then ask yourself why you should pay $7 for ringtones? The answer of course is no. Custom Addicts has made it dead simple to get ringtones. You even get to listen to it before you download it. Imagine that. I’m pretty sure you won’t be able to listen to that CD at Walmart before buying the ringtone.

Of course I’m into country music and so I liked having the page of country music ringtones. Everyone can enjoy a Tim McGraw’s She’s My Kind of Rain ringtone. Every time I heard it I would think of my wife. What’s sweeter than that?

I think the only thing is that it will leaving you wanting more of the song. I guess that’s why phones are essentially becoming mp3 players too.
