Automattic (the makers of Wordpress) have put out their Wordpress stats plugin that’s been on Wordpress dot com forever. I must admit that there are still a lot of things about BAStats that I will always love, but for a stats junkie like myself it’s nice to have two different views of my blog stats.

I still have a little work to make the Wordpress stats function work properly for me. It’s not capturing the title of my blog posts for some reason. I’m not exactly sure why. However, it’s the totals and referral pages that I really care about.

One last word of caution. The Automattic Wordpress stats plugin does require you to have a Wordpress.com account and the worst part is that you have to go to Wordpress.com to see the stats page. Luckily I figured out how to give permission to my various Wordpress.com accounts so I don’t have to log in and out. That would have definitely been a deal clincher.
