Flash Drives Just Became More Important With Windows Vista
Written by: JuanchitoToday I attended a demo by some people from Microsoft about their new Windows Vista operating system. I think that the coolest part of the whole presentation was seeing some of the features associated with thumb drives (or flash drives if you prefer).
For example, when you plug your flash drive it starts a feature called ReadyBoost which essentially turns your flash drive into extra memory for your computer. That’s pretty impressive.
Considering you can get 512MB, 1GB, 2GB or 4GB of portable storage very inexpensive these days, this is a great new feature of Windows Vista.
With all of the various Custom Thumb Drives out there then everyone will have at least one or more thumb drives in their pockets. I especially like the Custom Thumb Drives you see below.

Besides looking attractive they also have a durable, aluminum design with free custom laser engraving. With flash drives being so common you need a way to know which one is yours.

It is cool. Its also very cool when you are running a laptop with either bluetooth or wifi and you have a portable(player or PDA) with wifi or bluetooth.
The two can sync write up and keep things running back and forth wirelessly. You can have your wireless harddrive sitting in your briefcase or backpack and talk to it with your laptop from several feet away!
I’m pretty hooked on Vista’s SuperFetch which remembers what apps you use most then preloads them into the memory so they execute quicker. (ie: PhotoShop opens up in MILLISECONDS!)
