Live Tour de France 2008 Online Streaming

In the past years I’ve always been able to find a nice stream of Versus that allowed me to stream the Tour de France online without any problem. This year I have yet to find a nice stream except for the free one that Versus offers for the first 2 stages at a very ungodly hour in the morning.

This year, it looks like Justin.tv is going to save us with the EuroSport Live stream of the Tour de France. I love that it also archives the race so that if you aren’t there live you can watch the race after the fact too. Granted, you have to put up with the english commentary, but essentially that’s what Versus has with Phil Ligget too. I actually prefer the english commentary since it’s a quite refreshing perspective.

I am just a little bummed about even watching this year’s Tour de France since they kicked off Levi Leipheimer and Alberto Contador and their entire team. Just doesn’t seem right. However, I’m sure I won’t worry too much once I see a crazy sprint or a tough mountain stage. I’m just a little sad that there are only 4 Americans participating. That’s really unfortunate that there’s so few.

Great News - CBS Will Stream All NCAA Tournament Games Free Online

I’ve always had an interest in streaming video. Probably because I’m too cheap to pay for it myself. That’s why I found the news that CBS will be streaming All the NCAA tournament games online for free to be great news.

I’m pretty sure it will all be easily available from the CBS website. I’ll be looking forward to this. TVU Player worked well for streaming the NCAA tournament last year, but unlimited access to games will be so much better. In fact, now that I think about it, CBS streamed the games last year, but they had some filters applied depending on where you lived. This year should be much better.

France Implements Law to Crack Down on P2P Users

I just finished reading the report on TechCrunch saying that France and more importantly the French ISPs are implementing a 3 strikes and you’re out policy for internet users that are using P2P. This of course makes me wonder if this is just a French thing or if the French adopting this law will prod other countries such as the US to adopt similar policies. My guess is no. The US believes in a free market society and there are just too many legal uses of P2P technology that I don’t see the US ever being stupid enough to implement this type of policy.

This is a big win for the RIAA, but it’s definitely just a battle and not the war.

ABC Streaming Tomorrow?

Tonight I wasn’t able to watch Grey’s Anatomy’s Season premier, because I was watching other shows. I know I should have Tivo and it wouldn’t be a problem, but I don’t. I’m too cheap and don’t believe in any service that requires a monthly fee.

Well, tomorrow I’m hoping that ABC’s streaming site finally kicks into gear so that I can see the season premier of Grey’s Anatomy online.

If anyone has any other suggestions for seeing Grey’s Anatomy then please let me know. I still can’t understand why all TV networks aren’t streaming shows online yet. It’s inevitable.

2 NBC Shows Streamed Online - Studio 60 on The Sunset Strip and Twenty Good Years

NBC today announced it will stream the premieres of two of its most-new series before they broadcast them. It’s the latest in a string of news to suggest to local broadcasters they are facing a brave new world.

Teaming with Warner Bros. Television and AOL, NBC will premiere “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” and “Twenty Good Years” commercial-free on AOL.com, according to statement.

The shows will be available on-demand for the entire week prior to their network broadcast.

Thank you NBC and internetnews. This is a model that each and every show should adopt. In fact, it shouldn’t just stream the first show, but all of the shows for the entire season. Possibly the rest of the shows for the season could play after the orginal.

I’ve talked about downloading your favorite TV shows a number of times on this website. Well, I found another website for those that want to watch their favorite show again or possibly a TV show that you may have missed. This website looks really professional which is often very different than many of the other TV download sites I’ve seen.

On the site you can Download TV Shows from all sorts of categories such as sitcoms, dramas, reality tv, cartoons, mini-series, sports and music videos.

The best part of having a professional site is that they are interested in making sure that the downloads are of high quality. It’s never a good thing if you download a large file and then find out that the file doesn’t work.

There seem to be a lot of online TV offerings popping up all over the web. One that I just found is called Live TV Online TV. They seem to have a pretty good selection. They are missing some major channels, but this site has some online TV channels that you couldn’t find anywhere else. Honestly, some of the channels I didn’t even know existed.
