Taking the Plunge Into Las Vegas Real Estate
Written by: JuanchitoI have to apologize beforehand, because I’m pretty sure this blog is going to be pretty inundated with posts about Las Vegas Real estate. It’s not my fault. It’s my wife’s fault. She is just itching and scratching and dieing to have a house. Ok, she really just wants a backyard and maybe a little more room for the family. I think it’s a simple enough claim. Here’s the way I look at it. My wife is a stay at home mom and so our home is basically her office. She’s basically asking me for a larger office. Makes sense doesn’t it?
So, our search has begun. Too bad there are like a million Las Vegas homes to choose from. Las Vegas has grown like crazy. People tell us that we are in a dip and that it’s a buyers market, but I’m a little concerned. The real question is, what if it is not a good time to buy and the market continues to go down? Well, it is Las Vegas and so you think I’d know about gambling, but I don’t. I guess I really shouldn’t be too worried considering the way they build casinos here. The housing prices are bound to go back up eventually. It’s just a reality with growth. Not to mention if we buy a house in the Henderson/Green Valley area.
A lot of people say that the Summerlin real estate market is where it’s at, but I just don’t personally see it. Well, maybe I do see why it’s exploding. It’s a beautiful area. However, I don’t see how anyone can handle living in Summerlin and commuting on the 95 to downtown Las Vegas. Maybe some people love driving. I don’t! I’d honestly rather find myself one of the plenty of Las Vegas Condos before I submit myself to the travel time required if I lived in Summerlin.
Either way, I’m up for an adventure. I don’t think the problem is really finding a house. It’s really about finding a house that is a good deal. Maybe I just need to stop worrying and just enjoy the American experience of owning a home.
More on talks with the mortgage lenders later.
Taxes When You Make So Much Side Money
Written by: JuanchitoWell, this last year I have done quite well with bringing in some side cash. It’s a great thing to bring in some side money. It’s not so great a thing when taxes come due. I’m just lucky that I have made $1798.15 doing PayPerPost. Yes, that’s right. I’ve made that much money blogging for payperpost. Blogging is the best and I’m sure most advertisers will agree that blog marketing is on the way up. Too bad almost all of my money is going for taxes. I guess it’s better that it goes to pay my taxes then trying to have to find that money somewhere else. Either way, taxes suck. I normally get them done near the beginning of the year. This year I’ve been waiting as long as possible since I know I’m going to have to pay a heft amount. Oh well. I guess I’ll just have to make some more money blogging. I must admit that I still like doing PayPerPost, but I have become much more picky with which opportunities I am willing to take. I remember near the start of PayPerPost I was perfectly willing to take a $2.50 opportunity. Now I don’t remember the last time I took something less than $10. I think it is also because the topics that were available at the beginning of PayPerPost were more interesting. I mean I got to blog about So You Think You Can Dance. That’s a great TV show and I got paid to write about something I would have written about anyway. I guess we’ll see how they are able to innovate over time. We may need the extra money at some point. Like for taxes next year.
Hot Captcha
Written by: JuanchitoI recently created a captcha for a website. They are pretty cool even though a robot can still be taught to read them.
Well, someone took the captcha to the next level. It’s called the Hot Captcha. It takes the photos from Hot or Not and creates a captcha where you have to choose 3 girls that were ranked as Hot. Otherwise, it tells you that you must not be human. Great fun.
