An Entrepreneur and Discovery Engine Blog

Written by: Juanchito

Today I came across an entrepreneur and discovery engine blog called The Fish. It’s a pretty interesting blog by Mark Seremet. He’s recently started a company called Repliqa and he’s trying to build a community on his blog that he can leverage for Repliqa when it’s ready.

I especially liked that he put a video of his presentation online. It was a quite poor presentation because it is telling investors a bunch of things that they already know. He should really get to the point much more quickly. He also doesn’t give much details of what Repliqa will actually do. He didn’t show many numbers on how it was more effective than other discovery programs like StumbleUpon.

Also, I’m not sure why one stats person can handle the best minds at Google and even if the technology is better, it doesn’t have the brand name that it needs to really revolutionize the world. It will be fun to watch and see how it goes.

Google Gadgets on Your Blog

Google has made a great announcement about being able to add Google Gadgets to your own personal webpage. This is such a great idea. They are going to come out with so many gadgets that it will be a great feature for so many websites. Here’s an example of a Google Gadget for Pac Man

Getting Information on Vonage

Written by: Juanchito

Today I was talking with a friend I hadn’t seen in at least 12 years about Vonage. She has recently installed it and had horrible troubles.

I told her that should go and check out Vonage on the Vonage forums. These forums are a great way for people interested in Vonage to post about it and get some action and responses from other users of Vonage. It’s a great place to learn all about Vonage.

I also like the site because it has a lot of news items about Vonage listed. It’s a great place to start if you aren’t exactly sure about using Vonage. My friend’s problem is because she transferred her previous number and now she can’t get calls from T-Mobile cell phones. It would be interesting to see how many other people on the Vonage forum have had the same or if it was in the news sometime.

Getting Paid to Digg

Written by: Juanchito

Here’s a great article on getting paid to Digg. I like it refers to it as the Digg black market. It is really funny how invested people get. This is a really serious issue for Digg to combat. I must admit that I personally like submitting my good articles to digg because often I get traffic to my website from those diggs that are just indexed and made available for through the search feature of Digg.

It’s true that this same type of “black market” could also apply to del.icio.us, or stumbleupon, or netscape and I’d add redit to the list of possibilities too. Either way, if you have a blog and have been dugg before then you know how much it can do to spark your blog. I’m still waiting for it to happen on one of my posts. One day. I have a couple of good ideas to make it happen.
